AMA Vintage Days

Well, I found myself sleeping at the wheel today. I'd been planning to attend the AMA Vintage Days at the Mid-Ohio Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, but waited until today to purchase my tickets. The discount to AMA Members had expired and I'm stuck paying $60 for a weekend pass. It would have been $45 two weeks ago. Nonetheless, it'll be a great trip (over 2,200 miles round trip) and a great weekend.

Three days (two for me) of vintage racing, world's largest swap meet and thousands of vintage motorcycles on display!

On a side note, I booked my hotel using that new hotel website called Trivago.com. It was really easy. I just wanted the basic room at the absolute cheapest rate and they made it real simple.

Shop AC

The hot and humid season is upon us in Florida. Fortunately, my hurricane preparedness items includes a portable air conditioner. If the power ever goes out, this little gem, powered by my portable generator, will cool several hundred square feet. And, in the meantime, I have way to cool my garage to make it a little more bearable keeping up with my maintenance and projects.

This model is a 14,000 BTU SPT, which I got for under $400. It will cool about 700 square feet. The importance of an air conditioner isn't so much the desire to keep things cool, which is nice of course, as it is keeping mold from growing in your home when the power goes out for long periods.
